Do you have a project you would like to feature on the Think German website?
How do the holes get into Swiss cheese? And did you know that there is a blue elephant that is smaller than an orange mouse?
These are the kind of fascinating questions that are answered on the cult German children’s TV series Die Sendung mit der Maus. Thanks to foreign language assistant Isabel Gerhards, school pupils in Southend have also been given a taste of the show that is loved by every child in Germany.
After being introduced to the popular intro-song, the pupils were then shown bits and pieces of the legendary Lach- und Sachgeschichten (funny and factual stories). Afterwards Isabel let her Year 7 students explore the Maus-Website where they quickly found the funny Maus-Spots. Inspired by these they then created their own original Maus-Cartoons.
