German in the UK

Do you like relaxed swing beats and intelligent lyrics? Working in two different schools, foreign language assistants Hannah Bossman and Heidi Wolter brought their pupils together in the UK-German Connection online community to discuss hot new bands and artists from Germany, including hip-hop / swing star Peter Fox.

After creating a list of their favourite German songs, pupils worked in groups, discussed and translated the lyrics, then prepared podcasts. The podcasts were recorded, published online and forwarded to teachers of German across the UK.
