With a pinch of interest in baking and some grams of excitement about getting a taste of German eating culture, Dorothee Bublitz and a group of students from different forms started the German Baking Club at the King Edward VI Handsworth School.
The students met once or twice a month to learn how to make sweet German treats, such as biscuits and cakes. They were taught first-hand by their German assistant.
As one student put it, “German baking is really fun and exciting. I look forward to it every week on Monday. It really makes my day! The food is delicious!”
