For one week in June, three lucky school pupils will swap their classrooms in Aberdeenshire for the offices of KCA Deutag, a leading international drilling contractor based in the German town of Bad Bentheim.
The pupils are the winners of a German language competition organised jointly by KCA Deutag and the German Consulate General in Edinburgh. Their week in Bad Bentheim will give them an insight into the workings of the company, and will even include a visit to an oil rig. They will also learn more about German culture and traditions by staying with a German family and spending a day in a German school.
